Tips for Massage-
Coconut Oil: coconut oil provides a smooth texture for moving over the skin & is easily absorbed into the skin. Use the coconut oil as a base oil by applying it to the area prior to using essential or aromatic oils.
Essential Oils: Patchouli is a more aromatic experience & helps to ground emotions. Lavender is renowned for its calming and soothing properties. Use one or both oils after applying the coconut oil & work them into the skin with your fingertips or massage tool.
Stones: Room temperature or cold stones that have been chilled in the fridge can be used to fight inflammation and are great for muscle recovery. Hot stones will help relax the muscles & bring more blood to the area where you are working. They can be safely heated by placing in a covered bowl of hot water. Apply coconut oil to the area before placing stones or sliding them over the area.
Massage is not a replacement for medical treatment. Please refer to your doctor for treatment of injury or pain.
